SUN HYDRAULICS Electro-proportional, direct-acting, pressure reducing/relieving valve with open transition(PRDLMBN)

0 out of 5

This electro-proportional, direct-acting reducer/reliever valve reduces a high primary pressure at the inlet (port 2) to a constant reduced pressure at port 1, with a full flow relief function from port 1 to tank (port 3). The valve is biased to the relieving mode. Energizing the coil connects port 2 to port 1. Increasing the current to the coil will proportionally increase the reduced pressure at port 1. If pressure at port 1 exceeds the setting induced by the coil, pressure at port 1 is relieved to port 3. This valve is open in the transition from reducing to relieving. It provides good pressure control and dynamic response. Optional full manual control is available.

  • Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 3000 psi (210 bar).
  • Maximum pressure at port 3 should be limited to 3000 psi (210 bar).
  • Direct acting concept provides highly reliable operation in contaminated systems, especially at dead headed conditions.

SUN HYDRAULICS Fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief valve (RPEELDN)

0 out of 5

Fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridges are normally closed, pressure-limiting valves used to protect hydraulics components from pressure transients. Fast opening and closing is gained at the expense of smoothness. When the pressure at the inlet (port 1) reaches the valve setting, the valve starts to open to tank (port 2), throttling flow to limit the pressure rise. These valves have low pressure rise vs. flow and are very fast.

  • All 2-port relief cartridges (except pilot reliefs) are physically and functionally interchangeable (same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size).
  • Will accept maximum pressure at port 2; suitable for use in cross port relief circuits. If used in cross port relief circuits, consider spool leakage.
  • Main stage orifice is protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen.
  • Not suitable for use in load holding applications due to spool leakage.

SUN HYDRAULICS Fixed orifice pressure compensated flow control valve with reverse flow check (FCBBLAN)

0 out of 5

Fixed-orifice, pressure-compensated flow controls with reverse-flow check provide precise flow regulation for meter-in or meter-out applications where there may be wide pressure fluctuations. An integral high-capacity check valve provides unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1. The flow setting is specified by the user and is set at the factory.

  • Customer must specify a flow rating. Factory set flow ratings are within +/- 15% of the requested setting.
  • The tuneable control option provides +/- 20% variation from the nominal factory pre-set flow. Turn the adjustment clockwise to increase.
  • All 2-port flow control cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size). However, cartridge extension dimensions from the mounting surface may vary.
  • The sharp-edged orifice design minimizes flow variations due to viscosity changes.

SUN HYDRAULICS Fixed orifice, non-pressure compensated, flow control valve with reverse flow check (CNCCXCN)

0 out of 5

This valve is a fixed-orifice, non-pressure-compensated flow control with a reverse flow check. The flow setting is specified by the user and is set at the factory.

  • Customer must specify the orifice diameter.
  • All 2-port flow control cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size). However, cartridge extension dimensions from the mounting surface may vary.
  • These are essentially check valves with bypass orifices. The flow path matches Sun's flow controls and can be used in any flow control manifolds. Valves with the opposite direction of flow can be found under check valves with bypass orifices.
  • Because these valves are non-compensating devices, the fixed orifice size will regulate flow through the valve in proportion to the square root of the pressure differential across ports 1 and 2.

SUN HYDRAULICS Fixed orifice, non-pressure compensated, flow control valve with reverse flow check (CWCALIN)

0 out of 5

Vented counterbalance valves with pilot assist are meant to control an overrunning load. The check valve allows free flow from the directional valve (port 2) to the load (port 1) while a direct-acting, pilot-assisted relief valve controls flow from port 1 to port 2. Pilot assist at port 3 lowers the effective setting of the relief valve at a rate determined by the pilot ratio. Backpressure at port 2 does not affect the valve setting because the spring chamber references the vent (port 4). Other names for this valve include motion control valve and over-center valve.

  • Counterbalance valves should be set at least 1.3 times the maximum load induced pressure.
  • Turn adjustment clockwise to decrease setting and release load.
  • Full clockwise setting is 200 psi (14 bar).
  • All 4-port counterbalance, load control, and pilot-to-open check cartridges are physically interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size).

SUN HYDRAULICS Fixed orifice, pressure compensated flow control valve(FXEALAN)

0 out of 5

Fixed-orifice, pressure-compensated flow controls provide precise flow regulation for meter-in or meter-out applications where there may be wide pressure fluctuations. The flow setting is specified by the user and is set at the factory.

  • Customer must specify a flow rating. Factory set flow ratings are within +/- 10% of the requested setting.
  • Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • The sharp-edged orifice design minimizes flow variations due to viscosity changes.
  • The tuneable control option provides +/- 25% variation from the nominal factory pre-set flow. Turn the adjustment clockwise to increase.

SUN HYDRAULICS Flush mount pilot-to-open check valve with sealed pilot (CKBGXCN)

0 out of 5

This valve is a pilot to open check valve. It has a sealed pilot, a steel seat, and is non-vented. It allows free flow from the valve (port 2) to the load (port 1) and blocks flow in the opposite direction. Pressure at the pilot (port 3) will open the valve from port 1 to port 2. Pilot pressure needed at port 3 to open the valve is directly proportional to the load pressure at port 1. Pressure at port 2 directly opposes pilot pressure.

  • Provides hose break protection, prevents loads from drifting and positively locks pressurized loads.
  • Extremely low leakage. The seat and poppet are heat treated for long life. If the load drifts due to the valve, the seat has probably been damaged by contamination and the valve should be replaced.
  • Sealed pilot for use in circuits where cross port leakage is undesirable.
  • Note: Available only with 30 psi or 75 psi (2 bar or 5 bar) check valve cracking pressures.

SUN HYDRAULICS Free flow nose to side check valve (CXFAXAN/AP)

0 out of 5

Free-flow, nose-to-side check valves are on/off circuit components that allow free flow from the inlet (port 1) to the outlet (port 2) and block flow in the opposite direction.

  • Two-port check valves share the same cavity for a given frame size, however, pay close attention as flow paths may be in opposite directions.
  • Check valves offer extremely low leakage rates with a maximum leakage of less than 1 drop per minute (0,07 cc/min).
  • Will accept 5000 psi (350 bar) at ports 1 and 2.
  • Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
